Downtown Bradenton leasing more office space

A vacancy climate that gave some of Bradenton’s biggest office properties the feel of ghost towns just a few years ago may soon see office lobby directories filling with names again.
According to numbers released by the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp., vacancies in non-government office buildings measuring 10,000 square feet or larger have dropped by 1.11 percent since March to 28.39 percent.
While that percentage may seem small considering the 871,223-square-foot downtown office universe in these buildings, it is part of a years-long, approximately 10-point recovery that has some business and office building owners seeing Bradenton as a better place to do business.
“A lot of these business owners are coming up from the south and over from Lakewood Ranch,” said Ben Bakker, vice president of HJB Properties
