Serenoa Golf Club fetches $3.3 million

A Sarasota company has bought the 233-acre Serenoa golf course and its 10,220-square-foot club house near Clark Road and Interstate 75 for $3.25 million.

The buyer was Serenoa Holdings LLC, a Sarasota company managed by Jon Whittemore that financed the purchase with two loans totaling $2.83 million from Sabal Palm Bank, records show.

The seller was Serenoa Golf Club LP, an Austin, Texas, company managed by J. Michael Ussery, that bought the course out of foreclosure for $2 million in December 2012, records show.
