South Tamiami Trail property in Sarasota will be redeveloped

One of the oddest looking properties along South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota has been sold for $685,000.

Shelly’s Shack LLC plans to build a retail gift shop on the 19,943-square-foot retail site, 4420 S. Tamiami, that has long had a vacant shell building on it.

The existing structure will be torn down to make room for a new building on the rear of the property, with parking in front, said Brad Lindberg, a commercial adviser with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group who, along with Larry Starr, represented the buyer.
